Closing the Dual Year in the UK and Mexico 2015

Jimena Aguilar – February 1, 2016

During 2015, the UK and Mexico strengthen their alliance in various areas, among them science, commerce, innovation, and investment. Through more than 200 events the relationship and cooperation between the two countries has grown and a legacy that will carried forward 2015 has begun. This Dual year strengthened Mexico to UK as a creative and innovative country, full of traditions, culture and values.

As Vivien Stern (Director of the International Unit UKHE) mentioned, we are confident that this partnership is just the beginning of an extraordinary relationship between two nations, “The Dual year in the UK and Mexico 2015 is just the beginning of the mutual cooperation between our two countries; it is building a legacy of cooperation that will last for many years”.

LOVIS has actively participated in this bilateral relationship. One of the most important events was the official presentation of the company in Mexico at the residence of the Ambassador of the United Kingdom. Similarly, LOVIS has been a model success story in various forums and has presented in events of great importance as is GREAT Innovation Summit.

On January the 27th, the closure of the Dual Year in the UK and Mexico 2015 was held at the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City, where Ambassador Duncan Taylor gave an emotional toast “the Dual Year #UKMX2015 was a labor of love, celebrating the friendship between two very close countries”.

Among the attendants was Chris Sladen (Former President of the British Chamber of Commerce),  who was recently awarded CBE (Commander of the British Empire) in the Queen’s New Year Honour’s List of 2016.

Congratulations to the British Embassy in Mexico, their collaborators and of course, Ambassador Taylor, have done an amazing effort this year that strengthened the affection between the two countries.
