CEO Armchair session inaugurated the OECD Ministerial Meeting on the Digital Economy. Rafael Funes, Chairman of LOVIS, was one of the 5 guests.
As part of the Opening Plenary at the OECD Ministerial Meeting on the Digital Economy, which took place in Cancun on June 22nd of this year, it was carried out a Global CEO Panel to meet their positions about the Digital Agenda and the ICT sector – which has the fastest growth in the global economy – and generates the greatest amount of wealth in the world´s GDP.

Some of the issues that were discussed: the way the Digital Agenda is changing our environment, the role of digital technologies in the business field and the benefits for economic growth. But also on the challenges, as the few results of the Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (also called ERPs) has shown, enabling infrastructure for the better use of technologies by SMEs, as the lack of use on digitalization as an element for generating innovation and prosperity.
The event was preceded by the opening remarks of Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal, Secretary of Economy of Mexico, and Angel Gurría, General Secretary of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OCDE). Who gave the opening speech at the meeting to make way for the panel of CEO’s.
This year the slogan of the event is “Innovation, Growth and Social Welfare”, through which the digital agenda is addressed by four key axes: opening of the internet and innovation; building global connectivity; confidence in the digital economy; and jobs and skills in the digital economy.
