The last October 13th LOVIS attended at the world's leading food fair, Anuga. Numerous sources of inspiration, pioneering trending topics, an attractive supporting programme and, of course, great business opportunities: all this at the leading international trade fair Anuga. Which was conducted in Cologne, Germany. The event was attended by 7,000 exhibitors from 108 countries and around 160,000 trade visitors from 192 countries.

The 33rd Anuga was opened on Saturday, 10 October 2015 by Christian Schmidt, the German Minister for Food and Agriculture, and Evangelos Apostolou, the Greek Minister for Agricultural Development and Food; and was ended on Wednesday, 14 October 2015.
At Anuga we could appreciate in first hand trends and developments on the international food and drinks market. Innova Market Insight reported new analyses of the key trends in the dynamic of food and drinks, some of these are:
- People are interested in home cooking by cooking shows on TV and by blogging foodies, so they prefer the experience of cooking. It has driven demand for a greater choice of fresh foods kits and ingredients for cooking from scratch.
- People and the so-called Millennials generation want to connect with brands and to know the story behind the food, the naturalness and origin of their products.
- Due to increasingly demands around the consumers’ lifestyles, nutritional needs for snacks differ accordingly to the specific moments of consumption during the day… this is a great business opportunity!
In addition, topics that will continue to shape the discussions about food and drinks in the future are the vegan food, vegetarian options, organic and fair trade, and the “free” concepts. Moreover, the appreciation of food, the reduction of food waste primarily in the industrial countries, traceability, animal welfare and sustainability will have more importance than before.
The participation of UKTI Trade & Investment was noticed thanks to the 100 UK exhibitors of great importance. As always, its dairy pavilion remains strong with the UK dairy industry well represented. Delicious speciality cheeses and premium dairy products as well as supplies to the industry, make the UK Dairy stand a must each Anuga.
We also look the participation of Spain Industry with more than 200 organizations of Food and Drinks. ICEX Export and Invest organized a pavilion for this country where they reaffirmed their presence as an exporter country, with exports of food products, beverages and Spanish wine to German that reached, in the first half of 2015, 2.565 million euros, an increase of 8.3 % over the same period in 2014.
